tool: support --show-headers AND --remote-header-name
By keeping the headers in memory until we know the target file name,
then output them all.

Previously this option combination would cause an error.

Add test 1310 and 1492 to verify. Adjusted test 1460 to work in the new
conditions.

src: namespace symbols clashing with lib
Before this patch `lib/http.h` and `src/tool_sdecls.h` both declared
`HTTPREQ_*` enums.

Rename `src` ones to have distinct names.

They are not included in the same code for now, but this may change when

src: fix potential macro confusion in cmake unity builds
Sources used `lib/curlx.h` with both `ENABLE_CURLX_PRINTF` set and unset
before including it.

In a cmake "unity" batch where the first included source had it unset,
the next sources did not get the macros requested with
`ENABLE_CURLX_PRINTF` because `lib/curl.x` had already been included
without them.

Fix it by by making the macros enabled permanently and globally for
internal sources, and dropping `ENABLE_CURLX_PRINTF`.

This came up while testing unity builds with smaller batches. The full,
default unity build where all `src` is bundled up in a single unit, was
not affected.

Fixes:
```
$ cmake -B build -DCMAKE_UNITY_BUILD=ON -DCMAKE_UNITY_BUILD_BATCH_SIZE=15
$ make -C build
...
curl: support embedding a CA bundle
Add the ability to embed a CA bundle into the curl binary. It is used
when no other runtime or build-time option set one.
This helps curl-for-win macOS and Linux builds to run standalone, and
also helps Windows builds to avoid picking up the CA bundle from an
arbitrary (possibly world-writable) location (though this behaviour is
not currently disablable).
Usage:
- cmake: `-DCURL_CA_EMBED=/path/to/curl-ca-bundle.crt`
- autotools: `--with-ca-embed=/path/to/curl-ca-bundle.crt`
- Makefile.mk: `CURL_CA_EMBED=/path/to/curl-ca-bundle.crt`
Also add new command-line option `--dump-ca-embed` to dump the embedded
CA bundle to standard output.
curl: (on linux) add MPTCP support
Multipath TCP (MPTCP), standardized in RFC8684 [1], is a TCP extension
that enables a TCP connection to use different paths.
Multipath TCP has been used for several use cases. On smartphones, MPTCP
enables seamless handovers between cellular and Wi-Fi networks while
preserving established connections. This use-case is what pushed Apple
to use MPTCP since 2013 in multiple applications [2]. On dual-stack
hosts, Multipath TCP enables the TCP connection to automatically use the
best performing path, either IPv4 or IPv6. If one path fails, MPTCP
automatically uses the other path.
To benefit from MPTCP, both the client and the server have to support
it. Multipath TCP is a backward-compatible TCP extension that is enabled
by default on recent Linux distributions (Debian, Ubuntu, Redhat, ...).
Multipath TCP is included in the Linux kernel since version 5.6 [3]. To
use it on Linux, an application must explicitly enable it when creating
the socket. No need to change anything else in the application.
This attached patch adds an --mptcp option which allows the creation of
an MPTCP socket instead of TCP on Linux. If Multipath TCP is not
supported on the system, an error will be reported. It is important to
note that if the end server doesn't support MPTCP, the connection will
continue after a seamless fallback to TCP.
build: untangle CURLDEBUG and DEBUGBUILD macros
`CURLDEBUG` is meant to enable memory tracking, but in a bunch of cases,
it was protecting debug features that were supposed to be guarded with
`DEBUGBUILD`.
Replace these uses with `DEBUGBUILD`.
This leaves `CURLDEBUG` uses solely for its intended  purpose: to enable
the memory tracking debug feature.
Also:
- autotools: rely on `DEBUGBUILD` to enable `checksrc`.
  Instead of `CURLDEBUG`, which worked in most cases because debug
  builds enable `CURLDEBUG` by default, but it's not accurate.
- include `lib/easyif.h` instead of keeping a copy of a declaration.
- add CI test jobs for the build issues discovered.
f4606a796e tool_getparam: stop supporting @filename style for --cookie
The `@filename` style was never documented for --cookie <data|filename>
but prior to this change curl would accept it anyway and always treat a
@ prefixed string as a filename.
That's a problem if the string also contains a = sign because then it is
documented to be interpreted as a cookie string and not a filename.
Example:
`--cookie @foo=bar`
Before: Interpreted as load cookies from filename foo=bar.
After: Interpreted as cookie `@foo=bar` (name `@foo` and value `bar`).
Other curl options with a data/filename option-value use the `@filename`
to distinguish filenames which is probably how this happened. The
--cookie option has never been documented that way.
build: enable missing OpenSSF-recommended warnings, with fixes
https://best.openssf.org/Compiler-Hardening-Guides/Compiler-Options-Hardening-Guide-for-C-and-C++.html
as of 2023-11-29 [1].
Enable new recommended warnings (except `-Wsign-conversion`):
- enable `-Wformat=2` for clang (in both cmake and autotools).
- add `CURL_PRINTF()` internal attribute and mark functions accepting
  printf arguments with it. This is a copy of existing
  `CURL_TEMP_PRINTF()` but using `__printf__` to make it compatible
  with redefinting the `printf` symbol:
  https://gcc.gnu.org/onlinedocs/gcc-3.0.4/gcc_5.html#SEC94
- fix `CURL_PRINTF()` and existing `CURL_TEMP_PRINTF()` for
  mingw-w64 and enable it on this platform.
- enable `-Wimplicit-fallthrough`.
- enable `-Wtrampolines`.
- add `-Wsign-conversion` commented with a FIXME.
- cmake: enable `-pedantic-errors` the way we do it with autotools.
  Follow-up to d5c0351055 #2747
- lib/curl_trc.h: use `CURL_FORMAT()`, this also fixes it to enable format
  checks. Previously it was always disabled due to the internal `printf`
  macro.
Fix them:
- fix bug where an `set_ipv6_v6only()` call was missed in builds with
  `--disable-verbose` / `CURL_DISABLE_VERBOSE_STRINGS=ON`.
- add internal `FALLTHROUGH()` macro.
- replace obsolete fall-through comments with `FALLTHROUGH()`.
- fix fallthrough markups: Delete redundant ones (showing up as
  warnings in most cases). Add missing ones. Fix indentation.
- silence `-Wformat-nonliteral` warnings with llvm/clang.
- fix one `-Wformat-nonliteral` warning.
- fix new `-Wformat` and `-Wformat-security` warnings.
- fix `CURL_FORMAT_SOCKET_T` value for mingw-w64. Also move its
  definition to `lib/curl_setup.h` allowing use in `tests/server`.
- lib: fix two wrongly passed string arguments in log outputs.
windows: use built-in _WIN32 macro to detect Windows
Windows compilers define `_WIN32` automatically. Windows SDK headers
or build env defines `WIN32`, or we have to take care of it. The
agreement seems to be that `_WIN32` is the preferred practice here.
Make the source code rely on that to detect we're building for Windows.
Public `curl.h` was using `WIN32`, `__WIN32__` and `CURL_WIN32` for
Windows detection, next to the official `_WIN32`. After this patch it
only uses `_WIN32` for this. Also, make it stop defining `CURL_WIN32`.
There is a slight chance these break compatibility with Windows
compilers that fail to define `_WIN32`. I'm not aware of any obsolete
or modern compiler affected, but in case there is one, one possible
solution is to define this macro manually.
grepping for `WIN32` remains useful to discover Windows-specific code.
Also:
- extend `checksrc` to ensure we're not using `WIN32` anymore.
- apply minor formatting here and there.
- delete unnecessary checks for `!MSDOS` when `_WIN32` is present.
tool: use our own stderr variable
Earlier this year we changed our own stderr variable to use the standard
name `stderr` (to avoid bugs where someone is using `stderr` instead of
the curl-tool specific variable). This solution needed to override the
standard `stderr` symbol via the preprocessor. This in turn didn't play
well with unity builds and caused curl tool to crash or stay silent due
to an uninitialized stderr. This was a hard to find issue, fixed by
manually breaking out one file from the unity sources.
To avoid two these two tricks, this patch implements a different
solution: Restore using our own local variable for our stderr output and
leave `stderr` as-is. To avoid using `stderr` by mistake, add a
`checksrc` rule (based on logic we already used in lib for `strerror`)
that detects any `stderr` use in `src` and points to using our own
variable instead: `tool_stderr`.
